Description: Jordi Vidal, winemaker and co-owner has taken his knowledge of Burgundy and applied it to his wines of Priorat. Hand-harvesting his grapes in single village selections from 40 to 100 year old vines.
The village of Escaladei, in the heart of Priorat, is the most prominent in the region, home to the preeminnent, broad, and robust wines of the entire DOc.
“One of the gems in the Black Slate lineup is the 2016 Black Slate Escaladei. It offers an incredibly perfumed style as well as more red fruit, white flower, kirsch, and beautiful minerality. With medium to full-bodied richness, a light, silky texture, and sweet tannin, it pretty much maxes out the QPR scale and is a gorgeous wine.”
